Indigo Marketplace for GMAs

New product from scratch • Desktop application

Problem

Grain Marketing Advisors (GMA) provide advice and make decisions on behalf of growers to maximize the amount of money they receive for their crop, critical because there is only one harvest to sell per year.

Since Indigo Marketplace was targeted to individual growers, I needed to design a way to allow GMA users to manage multiple farm accounts at once and streamline their ability to quickly accept high value bids.

My role on the project

User Research

Conducted foundational research to understand the specific needs and pain points of GMA users, including their current processes, tools, and challenges.

Design

Designed workflows that provided an overarching view of multiple clients’ inventory while enabling decisions at the individual farm level.

Validation

Created a high fidelity prototype to confirm our product assumptions with GMAs and gain alignment from internal subject matter experts and business stakeholders.

Systems Thinking

Collaborated with Dev and Product Leads to determine priorities and discover areas where new GMA functionality would contribute back into the Indigo Marketplace product.

Designs

In the Bid view, GMAs see all open bids and if they have clients with inventory to fill them.

GMAs can expand a bid to see the quality specifications and display which clients have matching inventory.

The GMA views their clients’ inventory and can accept a bid on their behalf if it’s financially appealing and a good match.
